Course Description

PLEASE NOTE: Foundation and Intermediate 1 conducting courses running during the Birmingham Weekend are now fully booked. There are also very limited places on both Intermediate 2 and Advanced conducting courses – please email us to check availability BEFORE applying.

We are now taking bookings for courses at all levels at our next training weekend at Bolton on 4 and 5 November this year; if you’d like to secure a place now, click here to go to the Bolton Weekend listing.

Timings for the Birmingham Weekend:
Saturday – 9:30am-6:15pm
Sunday –    9:15am-3:45pm

Join us for our second training weekend for the year at our NEW venue in Birmingham, offering graded choral conducting courses at all levels!  Singers interested in singing with the conducting courses will also be most welcome.

Each course running during the weekend is designed to provide an engaging and encouraging environment in which participants can hone their skills and learn new techniques.

Our ever popular conducting courses will be held at Foundation, Intermediate 1 and 2 and Advanced levels  – so whether you’re new to choral conducting, or you’re looking to build on knowledge gleaned at previous training events, there’s an suitable training opportunity on offer for everyone. Details about course approaches at each level, together with information on course fees and suggested overnight accommodation, can be found in the Birmingham Weekend brochure.

Fees and Application form

Foundation/Intermediate conducting courses £190 (non-members £230); Advanced conducting course £220 (non-members £260). Fees include all tuition, lunches, Saturday evening meal and refreshments. Saturday night bed & breakfast is not included. Worth noting: Sing for Pleasure membership entitles you to discounts on courses as shown, and on our songbook collections.

There is a charge of £70 (to cover food and refreshments) for those interested in joining the Foundation or Intermediate groups as singers.
