Join us at our first training weekend for 2019 in London, brimming with courses to develop and improve your conducting or singing skills – including our introductory Orchestral Conducting Course. Online booking is now open.
For choral conductors, teachers and vocal leaders, we’re offering our popular conducting courses at Foundation and Intermediate 1 and 2 levels, along with a Masterclass for Advanced level students and our introductory Orchestral Conducting Course, which is running for the second time in London. Singers are catered for, too, with our Musicianship for Singers Course at Intermediate 1 level. Outlines for these specific courses are as follows:
Our Choral Conducting Masterclass is aimed at experienced conductors who are already working at Advanced level, though some places may be available for students currently at Intermediate 2 level. Tutor Catherine Beddison will work with attendees on a selection of challenging a capella works during Saturday, in preparation for Ben Parry joining the course as visiting guest tutor on Sunday.
Our Orchestral Conducting Course is perfect for individuals keen to embark on conducting in this area, or those who already have a little experience. Repertoire for students on the Orchestral Course will include Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending and Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor, BWV 1067. Ideally, Orchestral Course participants should have completed our choral conducting programme to at least Intermediate 2 level, but others with similar levels of experience will also be considered.
Our Musicianship for Singers Course at Intermediate 1 level is ideal for those who want to work on developing and improving their music reading and sight singing skills; it offers an introduction to reading SATB, four-part scores. If you are unsure which musicianship course level is right for you to start at, please email us for advice.
