We use a number of excellent tutors to assist us in our course production. Our highly skilled team are all members of Sing for Pleasure and bring a range of experiences as professional conductors, musicians, teachers, trainers, adjudicators and workshop leaders. In addition to our Management Team and Trustees, who are regular course tutors, we have recently engaged the following professionals:
Rebecca Berkley is a conductor, vocal animateur and teacher. She works as a choir trainer for Berkshire Maestros, the Berkshire Young Musicians Trust, at the Newbury Music Centre. She was area leader for Sing Up in Berkshire, and has a wide experience of training youth and adult choirs, and training teachers as singing leaders and conductors. She is also music director of Kennet Opera who are based in Newbury. She has written extensively on music education and published percussion music and choral arrangements.
Amy Bebbington is in great demand as a choral director and has worked extensively throughout the UK and USA. She has a Masters Degree in Piano Performance and a Doctoral Degree in Choral Conducting. Amy is part of the Choral Conducting tutor team for the Association of British Choral Directors, and has worked for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and Amabile as guest clinician. As a teacher trainer/workshop leader/animateur, she has worked for Trinity/Open University, Glyndebourne Education Outreach, Sing for Pleasure, The Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Music of Life, Sing Up and Youth Music. Most recently, Amy held a 5-year post as Musical Director for the Royal College of Music Junior Department Choirs. She is currently Musical Director for Dorking Camerata, Holmbury St. Mary Choral Society and Stevens & Bolton Office Choir, and also forms part of the instrumental faculty (piano) at Wellington College.
