We are particularly committed to helping young people to enjoy singing and develop choral skills.
We run singing days throughout the country, residential weekends and longer Superweek holidays.
Activities
For children who like singing, and singing together to a good standard, but who also like having fun and sharing lots of activities with others of their own age, Sing for Pleasure offers a wide range of events.
Music covers unaccompanied part-singing, using rounds and action songs as well as part songs, folksongs, spirituals, leading on to larger scale works. There are opportunities to join smaller groups for Barbershop singing, conducting and instrumental workshops.
Singers are encouraged to listen to themselves, and to each other, developing aural awareness, concentration and listening skills.
For further details of National Courses and Regional Events, or if you would like help organising an event see our events calendar.
Repertoire
Finding suitable repertoire is often a problem and Sing for Pleasure publishes song collections containing a wide range of enjoyable songs and arrangements, often written by our members for use by their own children and choirs.
See our Publications page for more details.
